Effective Workplace Training Group offers training in OHSA Supervisor Awareness. Under Ontario’s Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), employers must ensure supervisors complete basic occupational health and safety awareness training in addition to knowledge and competency-based training specific to the workplace. This program is designed to ensure minimum awareness requirements are met. As such, this training program which is offered to the Windsor-Essex County area reviews key elements of an effective health and safety program and the important roles of workers, supervisors, employers and health and safety representatives, as well as system partners like the Ministry of Labour and WSIB. Participants will discuss hazard-specific training programs required by law including, WHMIS, confined space entry, lockout, and workplace violence prevention, that may be necessary for their workplace. Through this training, supervisors will learn the elements of health and safety theory and how to apply them in order to help identify hazards and implement effective controls.
